Not At VMWorld Europe 2009
Just fair warning, that we’ll still be on normal programming whilst this is going on. Which I figure is a good thing. There will be plenty of news coming out from the event, I don’t want to over saturate.

It’s 7PM, do you know where your VMware Tools are? Rather, do you know if all your VM’s have them installed and running? Here is a one-liner to check that with PowerShell: get-vm | where { $_.PowerState -eq "PoweredOn" } | Get-VMGuest | where { $_.State -ne "Running" } | select vmName, State What this

VMware launched a new program today, VCP’s Rock (http://vcpsrock.com). Apparently the first 100 VCP upgrades from 2.5 to 3.5 will get an iPod sound system. Check it out yourself. I’m wondering however, what’s in store for us who already have a VCP on 3.5?
When your network engineer, or other random folks are looking for some assistance in updating their vlan map Visio, or are generally trying to make their work yours (who doesn’t love to delegate) you can bash out this one liner against your VI, and instantly have a list of what VM is on what VLAN.

Template VM’s are specialized VM’s. They’re designed to allow you to rapidly re-deploy preconfigured virtual machines, with little to no fuss. Often, however, that is not the case. I mean, who doesn’t just right click and “Convert to Template…” What that action does, is simply mark a file letting vCenter and ESX both know it’s

About thirty years ago in the jungle in South Korea I was spending some time living as a monk. One of the things I learned from these monks, was the ancient art of Dump reading. Yes! That’s right, I can tell the future by reading the finer texture and smell of a dump. Ok, while

Good news for North Carolina Turtles, from thestate.com A House subcommittee approved a bill (H.3121) designed to prevent the mass exportation of our turtles for food or the pet trade. Incase you’ve missed this, project VRC & VMware have released XenApp TS benchmarks with conflicting results, which seems to have the virtualization blogosphere in a tussle. Here is a good summary.
