Screenshot Tour: VMware Converter 4 Beta – Linux Conversion
After some fighting, I was unable to get the Windows Converter 4 package installed on my XP VM. However, I did have some great success in installing Converter 4 and converting an Ubuntu 8.04 LTS virtual machine.
These screenshots begin after converter is installed.

how to running vmware conventer in texmode…??
coz my centos are not using desktop environtment….
I've not had to use it in text mode yet. I am sure however, that there is
one… I'll take a look in the coming week, and post if you'd like.
I have installed vmware converter standalone 4.0 on a Linux EL 4 server.
Do I need to make any modifications in the configurations of any *.xml file .
Actually when I try to convert a box I get error “Error: Unable to connect to the Converter helper server on the target virtual machine.”
I have kept all the settings as default.
Please help on this.
Make sure there are no firewall rules or similar blocking access between the
server you are converting, and the VM infrastructure you are converting to.
In other words, make sure you are able to ping between the two, and telnet
over the appropriate ports. The specific ports will be covered in the DOCS
or the VMware forums.
