It is official, or at least as official as anything can be said to be official, that I will be attending VMworld 2009. I’m not sure on flight details yet, however. Of all of the plethora of reasons to attend, I’m actually quite interested in the Golden Gate Bridge Run.
Another thing that caught my eye this year, is the inaugural “VMware Technology Exchange Developer Day”. All I have to say about this one is … WOW. Really, register for it, and do it now. If you have ever written a line of VMware PowerShell, glanced at the API, or have even smelt the database schema, you will want to be there. Besides the wonderful benefits of having a developer conference, all registered attendees will get a 1-Year license for VMwares vSphere Standard
As a "Developer Day", the primary focus of this event is on helping developers integrate with VMware platforms. We will cover developer technologies related to all three of VMware’s product areas – datacenter, desktop and cloud – in sessions and corresponding demos. A sample of topics to be covered include vSphere Web Services SDK, APIs for managing and automating guest OS, vCloud API introduction, vApps, vStorage, productivity tools and much more. Packaged into beginner and advanced level sessions, the content will be tailored specifically to help developers learn about VMware’s integration APIs, understand implementation best practices and see examples. Corresponding demos will provide further opportunity for training and discussion with VMware engineers in small-group settingp setting
I look forward to meeting all of you there!
