November is upon us and so we are getting close to the Datrium Build Day. The vBrownBag mobile data center will be making another trip to Sunnyvale in Silicon Valley. On Thursday the 16th of November, starting at 9 am Pacific time, we will live stream the process of deploying the Datrium Open Converged platform into our existing vSphere environment. Open Convergence is one approach to what I am calling Post-HCI architectures, ways of delivering simplified IT operations without putting storage inside hypervisor hosts.
Datrium has been in the news recently with an outstanding result from the Evaluator Group’s report of an IOMark result. A Datrium system delivered a result five times higher than the previous highest reported result. Datrium has something called “Insane Mode” which I am keen to learn about. They also have analytics and data protection, not just a speed demon but real data services.
We have posted a quick introduction video and you can catch the live stream next Thursday on our YouTube event.
