It seems that the community is still hard for vendors to include in their conferences & particularly the online replacement for their conferences. The community is my sole reason for going to almost every VMworld event since 2011, so I want to spend time with my community friends at VMworld 2020. With that in mind, the vBrownBag crew is taking part in another community that lives on the Orbital Jigsaw discord. You can join the Orbital Jigsaw community and find a lot of your VMware community people talking about pretty much anything that interests them, just as happens at the VMworld blogger tables. There will be live conversations during the VMworld keynote watch parties, and we are expecting some community panel discussions and maybe even the online Opening Acts panels. You can also expect to see activity around other tech conferences and events where we would otherwise meet in-person. If you would like to learn more about or get involved with Orbital Jigsaw, I suggest that you start with Jeramiah’s blog posts like this one Community VMworld 2020: Time to Volunteer!
We will have a rolling watch party on Orbital Jigsaw for the “vBrownBag TechTalks before VMworld’, and the TechTalks that are part of the VMware community Birds of a Feather sessions. We are recording TechTalks now, for broadcast immediately before VMworld. In the next few weeks, I will post a broadcast schedule for the TechTalks on our TechTalks Live page. You will be able to watch the Twitch stream on that page or watch on YouTube, where we will have blocks of TechTalks premiere on the same schedule. Once the broadcast is complete, we will post all of the TechTalks to the vBrownBag YouTube channel and add them to the pool for the TechTalks podcast.
