Couch to OpenStack – Quantum Follow-Up

Thanks everyone for coming along last night. To recap, we:

  • Used git to clone the Couch to OpenStack repo
  • Used Vagrant to stand up the ‘controller’, ‘compute’, ‘cinder’, and ‘quantum’ VMs
  • Used the Vagrant shell provisioner to install
    • Ubuntu Grizzly repos
    • MySQL
    • KeyStone
    • Glance
    • Nova
    • Cinder
    • Quantum
    • Setup .stackrc with environment variables
  • Discussed the OpenStack Networking services
  • Created OpenStack Networks via Quantum
  • Deployed an Ubuntu instance via Nova and attached the Quantum networks to it to provide network access

I would like to thank Sean Winn for providing his expertise tonight!  I would also like to thank Dan Wendlandt and his team at VMware for the workflow that I used for tonight’s session.  You can see the VMware Team’s work on the OpenStack Foundation YouTube Channel
